Revert from United Kingdom to Britain

[edit]

Andrew Yong, I was flicking back in history and user:147.10.141.32 changed "Britain's defence guarantees of Malaysia and Singapore" to "the United Kingdom's defence guarantees of Malaysia and Singapore". Since the United Kingdom is technically the country at that time is that not appropriate? or is there something I am missing about the use of the word United Kingdom in this context. Please discuss. TarquiniusWikipedius 04:01, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the reversion was more to do with the formatting rather than the choice of words, as there was a capital The in the middle of the sentence and a duplicate link to United Kingdom. It is possible I thought it was a cut and paste error. Clearly Britain and the United Kingdom are both acceptable, with the latter more appropriate in the first instance. Andrew Yong 13:02, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so as you said the "United Kingdom" is more appropriate, do I have your permission to change it? TarquiniusWikipedius 02:00, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need my permission, they are both acceptable. Andrew Yong 22:45, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

East Malaysia Not Included?

[edit]

Somebody removed the part where they say "East Malaysia is not included as part of the area of responsibilities under the FPDA. I'll change it back. And also, here's a link supporting my claim: http://web1.iseas.edu.sg/?p=5718 Sairyu (talk) 21:32, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding 'Personnel and facilities'

[edit]

I don't believe this section as at 2 May 2020 describing UK forces stationed in-country to support the FPDA accurately describes the multi-national composition of forces, especially in regards to RMAF Butterworth. I therefore believe this section, if not amended, should be removed. Blammy1 (talk) 14:15, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

United Kingdom not part of British Empire?

[edit]

I am confused of the sentance that the united Kingdom was not part of the British Empire. Is there a reason why the British are excluded from the Empire. 2003:D6:C70B:5D10:7842:9617:74ED:5FF1 (talk) 11:23, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
