A Forex signal is a recommendation to enter a trade on a specific currency pair, typically at a designated price and time. These signals can be generated by either a human analyst or an automated Forex robot and are often provided to subscribers of a Forex signal service. Due to the time-sensitive nature of these signals, they are usually delivered through instant communication channels such as email, websites, SMS, RSS feeds, tweets, or other rapid methods. In many regions, signal services must be registered with regulatory authorities to operate legally.
Types of Forex Signal Services Forex signal services generally fall into four main categories:
Free Signals: These signals are offered at no cost, often as a way to attract potential clients. Paid Signals from a Single Source: Signals provided by one entity, which may be generated through personal market analysis or automated algorithmic analysis. Paid Signals Aggregated from Multiple Sources: These services compile signals from various providers or systems, offering a broader range of trade opportunities. Signals from Trading Software or Forex Robots: Signals generated by trading software installed on the trader’s computer, often referred to as a Forex robot or Expert Advisor (EA). Key Features of Forex Signal Services Forex signal providers offer a variety of features, including:
Specific Trade Details: Exact or approximate entry, exit, and stop-loss levels for trades on one or more currency pairs. Supporting Analysis: Graphs, charts, and additional analysis to explain the reasoning behind the signals. Trading History: A record of past trades, showing the profit/loss in pips per month, risk/reward ratios, and sometimes back-tested results (especially for Forex robots). Interactive Support: One-on-one coaching or interaction with the signal provider through comments, forums, or other means. Account Management: Some providers offer managed accounts, where the subscriber's account is traded on their behalf by the signal provider. Educational Resources: Access to online or phone-based educational content to help subscribers understand and use the signals more effectively. Trial Periods: Some services offer a trial period at a reduced cost, allowing potential subscribers to evaluate the service before committing fully. While these are common features, not all signal providers offer the complete range of services.
Risks and Fraudulent Activities in Forex Signal Services The Forex market is often portrayed as a quick way to achieve financial success, which has led to the proliferation of services offering signals of questionable quality. Many of these do not meet user expectations, and some may even be fraudulent. It is crucial to thoroughly research and verify any signal provider before relying on their services.
Methodologies and Trading Strategies in Forex Signals Most Forex signal providers rely on technical analysis, while a smaller number focus on fundamental analysis or price action strategies.
Technical Analysis: This approach often uses tools like Ichimoku clouds and candlestick patterns to identify both short-term and long-term price trends, offering flexibility in trade recommendations. Fundamental Analysis: Signals based on fundamental analysis are usually geared towards long-term trade ideas, considering economic indicators, interest rates, and other macroeconomic factors. Price Action: This strategy is often used for very short-term trades, such as scalping, where signals are generated based on real-time price movements without relying heavily on technical indicators.

Change this: Forex signal services generally fall into four main categories: free signals, paid signals from a single source, paid signals aggregated from multiple sources, and signals from trading software or Forex robots.
To this clarified version: Forex signal services can be divided into four primary categories. First, there are free signals, which are often provided at no cost as a way to attract new users. Second, paid signals from a single source are generated by either a human analyst or an algorithm from one provider, offering personalized or automated trading advice. Third, aggregated paid signals compile recommendations from multiple sources, giving traders access to a wider array of strategies and insights. Finally, signals from trading software or Forex robots are generated by automated systems, known as Expert Advisors (EAs), that run on a trader's computer, executing trades based on pre-set parameters without the need for manual intervention.

- Not done: Investopedia is not a reliable source per WP:INVESTOPEDIA. Your other source is a primary source selling a product. Your proposed wording also sounds wordy. The phrase "wider array of strategies and insights" doesn't seem like neutral point of view to me.McYeee (talk) 21:19, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
