Old post

[edit]

Somebody ought to add when and how the castle came to naught.--Aaron Walden 02:20, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

I have heard that Fotheringhay should be pronounced "Fuhn gee" can someone confirm this?

I've moved your post to the bottom of the page. Please always add new material at the bottom of a talk (discussion) page. Thank you. Timothy Titus Talk To TT 08:45, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Country?

[edit]

It would be helpful to put the country where this is located in the first or second sentence. Currently it reads, "Fotheringhay Castle (also Fotheringay Castle)[1] was in the village of Fotheringhay 3 1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) to the north of the market town of Oundle, Northamptonshire (grid reference TL061930)" Since I am not British I have no idea where the village of Fotheringhay 3 ½ miles north of Oundle is located. Even reading further on there are so many references to English royalty and Scottish royalty I could tell if it was in England or Scotland. I was guessing it was in Scotland until I confirmed it was in England.Tomandzeke (talk) 22:38, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, Tomandzeke. Note that the very first link in the article, on the name Fotheringhay, takes you to the article on that village, which includes all sorts of info on the village, including its location. I put a couple helpful editing tips on your talkpage. Eric talk 04:12, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
