Honorific titles
[edit]The honorific titles I removed and you restored are in clear violation of MOS:HONORIFIC. Please say why you have restored them. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 19:05, 2 September 2011 (UTC) PS: MOS:HONORIFIC says, in pertinent part, "Styles and honorifics related to clergy and royalty, including but not limited to His Holiness and Her Majesty, should not be included in front of the name, but may be discussed in the article." Though other style guides may suggest a different usage for general or public use, Wikipedia determines the style to be used in its articles. — TransporterMan (TALK) 19:11, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Apologies. Could you please assist me in positioning honorific titles in the mentioned page or clean up. Thanks 03:22, 3 September 2011 (HKT) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jean.julius (talk • contribs)
- Per MOS:HONORIFIC it's not so much a question of positioning them as it is avoiding their use, except to describe them if appropriate in the text of the article. Titles which "come with the position," such as Most Reverend in this case ordinarily should not be mentioned at all (except, as you've done, in the infobox title since it specifically calls for them). Academic titles can be described in the text by saying that "Jones received a doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree in 2007 from Biskupin University". From this article, it's not clear where Kallarkal received his "Dr." so I can't help you formulate it exactly. Unfortunately, in looking for that information, I've just spotted a much more serious problem: copyright and will be forced to tag the article for deletion because of it. — TransporterMan (TALK) 21:12, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
File:Most. Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarackal.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion
[edit]An image used in this article, File:Most. Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarackal.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.
