[edit]- Nonsense! Knighted (in his own right) and held very important positions. I shall remove the "prod" in due course if someone disagrees with this. --Counter-revolutionary 11:48, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- AfD here it comes then. One Night In Hackney303 12:05, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, you must. It is your duty as an honest and faithful servant to WP:BIO surely, as a high ranking diplomat most certainly is not notable! Enter an Afd now. --Counter-revolutionary 12:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- He's not even notable according to the (REJECTED!) notability guideline at WP:ROYAL. One Night In Hackney303 12:11, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Eh, yes he is:
- He's not even notable according to the (REJECTED!) notability guideline at WP:ROYAL. One Night In Hackney303 12:11, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- A member of the lesser nobility or gentry who does not meet the above standards may be notable if he or she verifiably meets any two of the following criteria:
- The subject serves in an official capacity within the government, such as an Ambassador or Administrator.
- and he is notable under WP:BIO too. Send to AfD if that is your aim. --Counter-revolutionary 12:14, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Even ignoring the fact it was a rejected guideline he was neither an Ambassador nor Administrator. Both positions he held were beneath that role. Simply being employed by the Government in any capacity is insufficient, otherwise we would have articles on Job Centre staff. One Night In Hackney303 12:16, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- He held the same powers as an Ambassador (i.e. to exercise the power of the head of state (HMK)) where there was a legation and not an embassy. --Counter-revolutionary 12:19, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
How to include
[edit]How to include things like treaties he was part of negotiating? be they trade, or other smallish ones? [1] --Rocksanddirt 20:19, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
