@Vanamonde93: Hi. Is there a way where we can get the exact pages we are using for the book "The Death of Francisco Arana: A Turning Point in the Guatemalan Revolution", instead of citing 25 pages in a single reference? This will help readers a lot more and can add more credibility to the article, especially for those wary of offline sources. Please let me know how I can help. MX () 21:11, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MX. It's not a standalone book; it's a book chapter from "Shattered Hope: The Guatemalan Revolution and the United States, 1944-1954", which was published as a journal article. When using book sources I frequently use large page ranges, as the information necessary for a single encyclopedic sentence is often scattered across the chapter: but I suppose I could reduce the size of the range if I tried. I possess the source in question, but it's not with me at the moment, as I'm traveling. I could address this in a few days. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 03:51, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Vanamonde93: Got it, thank you for the explanation. I posted this because I figured the page range could be reduced and become more precise. If you have multiple pages scattered around, you can try using this format, for example: "pg. 1–7; 18; 25", instead of "pg. 1–25". I'll leave it up to you to decide. I rather preserve the integrity of the source/text than sacrifice it. Big thanks! And nice job with this article, I've enjoyed it a lot. MX () 14:13, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
