Who is the school named after?

[edit]

The article has two different statements about who the school is named after. The Location section says "The school is named for Franklin K. Lane, Secretary of the Interior during the administration of President Woodrow Wilson." while the Information section says "The high school is named for the Canadian-American politician, Franklin K. Lane." Neither has a cited reference and I did not find anything in the References or External links to resolve this obvious conflict. Since the school is in the USA, I tend to believe the former is correct, but there is nothing to prove that. Therefore, I have tagged both as citation needed. Can someone help resolve this? Thanks. • You're right that a citation is needed; however, if you read the article that you linked to, it is pretty obvious that Franklin K. Lane was both a Canadian-American politician and the U.S. Secretary of the Interior. --Russ (talk) 11:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've cleared it up. I've avoided the word "Canadian", as Lane was born in the colony of Prince Edward Island, and left for California before it became part of Canada. It's all properly reffed.--Wehwalt (talk) 16:48, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Defunct school

[edit]

This school was phased out and broken into separate schools in the 2000s. This school is not in operation under the title in this article. The old code number (K___) does not apply to this school. A student cannot apply to this school, as named here, nor can a teacher apply to this school. The school, rather, has been split into four different schools, with different students, staffs, performance statistics and missions. If there are references on the internet, these are legacy references.

The school only appears as a single unit in reports on after-school athletics. They remain united as one on the old campus. Gogue2 (talk) 09:07, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
