Review

[edit]

Good start! View your page's history to see if I made any edits or left any templates. I aggressively edited your prosed and removed a fair amount of redundant prose. I also left a template indicating you should link to more Wikipedia articles. Once you've done that, please proceed to moving to the mainspace according to the syllabus. Once there, work with other Wikipedians on whether this topic merits its own page or whether any of its content is better placed in other articles. -Reagle (talk) 19:09, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Potential Additions to the Wikipage

[edit]
  • Adding more about how the impact GPU mining has affected companies business practices as a subsection to market impact.
  • The future of GPU mining with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence such as ChatGPT as Nvidia announced projected impressive financial results through refactoring GPU miners to AI applications. Also detailing some environmental concerns
  • Creating a concerns section that deals with a variety of concerns with security, economy, and environment. Refactoring all the sections related to the topic here.
  • Potentially adding small details in the summary section such as applications and programs purpose for GPU mining

Peer Review

[edit]

Hi @Letian88886! This is a great and informative article! I thought that the structure of the article was clear and fluid. I have made some copy-edits (which you can view in version history) to fix a couple of grammatical/sentence errors. I noticed that the article is mostly made up of the concerns associated with GPU mining. I am curious to see the other side of it, and more specifically, the associated "pros" that have been argued for GPU mining. This could be an interesting section. I would also suggest including an image to make the article more lively and engaging. Finally, I think you could benefit from linking to more Wikipedia pages to gain visibility (e.g. Cryptocurrency). -Alexistang (talk) 16:26, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Updates on Article

[edit]

I was considering on adding some more changes to the article. Specifically I was considering on added more information on the concerns section, just a small section on general concerns like how it could affect the GPU's iteself. As well as a refactored market impact section where I would include a portion on the slow transition from using GPU miners for cryptocurrency into AI. Finally just add more to the profitability by restating some general points with GPU mining's profitability like newer GPUs having better clock speeds and the decision for fossil v. renewable sources. 68.46.24.150 (talk) 10:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
