I have added some readily referencable details however examples of 4,5,6 coordinate complexes and aqueous chemistry will need extra work in a library Axiosaurus 11:54, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here i believe some mistake it is highly inflammable and water sensitive see the reference http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/ProductDetail.do?lang=en&N4=552798%7CALDRICH&N5=SEARCH_CONCAT_PNO%7CBRAND_KEY&F=SPEC —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bjganeshkumar (talkcontribs) 05:50, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's probably because that page refers to 0.5 mol/L GaCl3 in pentane, the pentane being the flammable part.
The pure compound (see this) isn't flammable but it does react with water (to produce HCl, I guess).

Since it's extremely reactive with water, shouldn't "highly soluble" be changed to "reactive"? That MSDS of the pure stuff says it plainly enough, but I've worked with it too - it still smokes in a freshly purged glovebox under nitrogen. It's not something you bring into contact with water unless the conditions are well controlled. 198.213.224.220 (talk) 23:59, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Like most lists, Wikipedia is loose with the meaning of solubility. It usually means that one obtains a clear solution, but the fate of the precursors is usually not so clear. If this stuff "smokes" in your box, your box atmosphere is contaminated. --Smokefoot (talk) 00:39, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
