The result of the move request was: no consensus that there's a better common name for the subject at this time. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 19:03, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gatineau LRTGatineau Tramway – The projected tramway network in Gatineau, Canada is named the Gatineau Tramway (French: Tramway de Gatineau) in official webpages, not Gatineau LRT (Light Railway). 31.200.18.125 (talk) 17:21, 12 June 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). 10mmsocket (talk) 17:36, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The STO's English page on the project [1] seems to call it the "Tramway Gatineau-Ottawa", but I'm not sure if that's just a temporary name. A tramway is still light-rail. So either keep it at the current title until it is officially named, or move it to match the STO's current English language usage. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 19:54, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We should leave as-is until such time as an official name for the scheme is announced as part of the local government's approval process. If you look at the sources given in the article, you'll see that quite a few use "LRT" so it's not going horribly against logic to just leave it for now.--10mmsocket (talk) 21:31, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Possible renaming

[edit]

The official project website refers to this project as 'TramGO', which is short for "Tramway Gatineau- Ottawa" [TramGO - Gatineau-Ottawa tram (tramwaygatineauottawa.ca)]. The STO website has also adopted this same name and branding [Gatineau-Ottawa tram | STO]. As does the City of Gatineau [Gatineau-Ottawa tram (TramGO) - Ville de Gatineau]. The project no longer refers to itself as being a LRT 'light rail transit' but rather as a 'tramway' to service more local needs, as opposed to a commuter line like the O-Train in Ottawa.

The best name for the Wikipedia article might be "Gatineau-Ottawa tram". But I am open to other suggestions. CFLNFL (talk) 17:35, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Weak support. TramGO could be considered if secondary sources refer to this project by that name; so far, I haven't seen any evidence of that. 162 etc. (talk) 21:01, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is one media source here which calls the project TramGO by the TVA Gatineau Ottawa (dated March 21, 2024) CFLNFL (talk) 17:32, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
