Redirect from Gauda

[edit]

As I don't know how to do it, I am putting a request out, for someone who does to redirect Gauda to this page. Thanks.

Confusion: Gauda Region Vs. City

[edit]

Article contains confused details on the history. Gauda was an ancient region spanning West Bengal, Pundravardhan and Bengal proper. Gauda, the city, is not from that era. It was built in the 12th century, probably during the Pala Kings. Hello, I added a source for my revision here with a quote from the source, Dineschandra Sircar, Studies in the Geography of Ancient and Medieval India.[1]

Quote: "Thus Gauda flourished as an important city of Eastern India for a considerable period of time before the establishment of Muslim rule, and pre- Muslim rulers of the country often built new cities named after them in the vicinity of the site..."
