I'm getting annoyed the changes and reverted. If you want to revert, discuss here first. After all, this article was first placed as a Redirect and left for ages.Other dictionaries are better (talk) 14:41, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Creating this article doesn't give you any sort of rights to it at all. Stop acting like every change requires your approval, because it doesn't. all of my edits to this page have been valuable to the article. CloversMallRat (talk) 15:37, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Things to improve

[edit]

Content--I don't know how to describe the song--what version of country is it? Which instruments? (see for eg. the Not That Far Away article).

Music Review--Any proper music review from an established source?

Dates--Cannot confirm date of release for digital download or airplay--the orignal sources are gone.Other dictionaries are better (talk) 15:18, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The airplay date doesn't need a source. CloversMallRat (talk) 15:35, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What the heck are you talking about? I would like someone else to edit this. If you look at the Not That Far Away article, there are references at every juncture.Other dictionaries are better (talk) 15:37, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I created that page fyi, and a lot of the work done on that page to make it a good article was done by myself. And anyways, a reference for the airplay date can be added from MusicRow or AllAccess, to name two options, but once the dates are in the past, then the reference is no longer needed because those websites stay current and don't keep old dates. There's probably no website with "Generation Love" listed now that its been out a month. CloversMallRat (talk) 15:55, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well i reverted this page.Other dictionaries are better (talk) 16:30, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chart dates

[edit]

The chart dated May 14, 2011 is when Generation Love debuted, based on the way Billboard dates their charts in the future. If you look at the list of #1 country hits, for example: List of number-one country singles of 2011 (U.S.), you find no chart dated May 2, 2011; it simply doesn't exist. I'd appreciate it if you would please clue yourself in, User:Foxhound66, instead of continuing to edit war on this page and continuing to personally attack me by suggesting things like 'I can't read'. CloversMallRat (talk) 21:49, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You provided no source whatsoever, I provided a source, and you are the one reverting without discussing. Charts begin at the beginining of the week and May the 14 was not the begining of the week. Please education your self with the days of the week.

Billboard update (which is on the Jennette McCurdy page itself:

http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/billboardbiz/photos/pdf/country_update_0425.pdf (no Generation Love)

http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/billboardbiz/photos/pdf/country_update_0502.pdf PAGE 8 (so you can easily see--hot country songs May 02, 2011) In my opinion, you should leave the page someone else who knows country music.Other dictionaries are better (talk) 22:20, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know a lot more about country music than you ever will. I have contributed a lot of valuable information and created a large sum of country music-based articles on Wikipedia in the past 4+ years. Anyways, you're continuing to make no effort to understand any of this; you are misinterpretting the way Billboard dates its charts. Read this and look for the #1 country song for the week of May 2, 2011: List of number-one country singles of 2011 (U.S.)... you won't find one, 'cause there is no chart with that date. CloversMallRat (talk) 23:42, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
May 2 is the date of the Billboard Country Update issue, but not the date of the chart contained within. This link direct from Billboard makes it clear that "Generation Love" debuted the chart week of May 14, 2011. Eric444 (talk) 01:58, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Confusing. Why was it posted earlier? If you check the other artists that is thier ranking for May 02. Week Starts May 02. May 14 is in middle of the week. I countributed to coutnry music too. Don't play with me. Other dictionaries are better (talk) 11:43, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, look, I'm gonna try to explain this to you. Billboard may have posted that on May 2, 2011, but they date their charts like 10+ days in the future, so that week is actually called the chart week of May 14, 2011. That's how it works. TBH, it doesn't make the most sense, but thats how they do it. Just accept that it works that way and move on. CloversMallRat (talk) 17:14, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Give me a independent source that says that. Not a wikipedia source. A weerb source, blog whatever.Other dictionaries are better (talk) 08:45, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just read the Wikipedia article on Billboard. It says everything you need to know: Billboard Hot 100. Either figure out how the Billboard chart works so you can make logical edits (instead of vandalizing my good edits), or stop editing song articles. CloversMallRat (talk) 17:25, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about just the fact that all the current charts on the Billboard website are dated June 4? Check back on Thursday when they update and it'll be changed to June 11. Eric444 (talk) 06:05, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
