[edit]

This article is blatent advertisement. also, the "standard" seems closed, with no way to know how to retrieve the specification for the GigE Vision, the link at the end of the page points to a page which only advertise the "standard".

This standard cannot be "based on the Internet Protocol standard": this does not mean anything technologically speaking. the Internet Protocol defines a protocol, that is a way to organize data. each IP frame contains data, those data can also be structured to define an underlying protocol (this is the case for TCP or UDP for example), the embedded protocol can also contain structured data to define another protocol (such as HTTP or SMTP). so GigE Vision would better qualify as a protocol (but i cannot verify this claim since i cannot access any paper defining the technology). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.148.242.168 (talk) 09:44, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Very much agree this is an advertisement. Would ask commentators if they work for Raben Group to abstain from further edits. In line with the above intend to radically change this page. Not sure its worthy of a Wiki Page. Richie1921 (talk) 16:56, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I restored the "technology" section - a factual listing of the technologies is not an advert. I likewise restored the "See also" section which links to articles on related topics (per WP:MOS). --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 16:29, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
