"Later versions"
[edit]The Who's and The Tremeloes' versions cannot be in 'Later versions' since both British groups released the song in 1965, before the Rascals did in 02/1966. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cjelli (talk • contribs) 04:30, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
"Divining a mixture of garage rock and white soul..."
[edit]I'm not entirely sure this passage makes sense. "Divining" means to perceive by intuition or insight, rather than direct evidence. Relgif (talk) 19:42, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Move. With all due respect to a well reasoned oppose vote, we have rough consensus that this is the primary topic of the title. Cúchullain t/c 14:44, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Good Lovin' (The Young Rascals song) → Good Lovin' – The article about the hit song by the Rascals is clearly the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC here, and "Good Lovin'" was the name of this article for many years until someone moved it without discussion a few months ago to make way for a disambig page. It was a number one pop charts hit song and has been recorded by many others. The two others on the disambig page are a very minor hip-hop song and an Australian album named after the Rascals song. - 100% Support - This song has 2,168 views in the past 30 days versus a combined 340 views for the other articles.Hoops gza (talk) 20:49, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose - As with other moves/RMs I'm not convinced that turning Good Lovin' (which was disambiguation) to a redirect to Good Lovin' (disambiguation) on Nov3 really benefits anyone. The fact what we have Good Lovin' (The Young Rascals song) 1966, Good Lovin' (Slim song), 2008, Good Lovin' (album), 2008 album by David Campbell, and Good Lovin' (Makes It Right) 1971 song by Tammy Wynette means that one way or another there'll be a disamb page. So the only thing this RM achieves is removing the artist from the most popular of the 4 songs. What's so bad about making it clear which song this is, I see several benefits, the first being that keeping "(The Young Rascals song)" in title immediately makes the reader aware that there are other songs, not merely covers like the Grateful Dead. - That is what the article is for, not the title, to explain who wrote the song etc. A WP:tophat will direct readers to Good Lovin' (disambiguation) where they can find all of the covers, and get here, as well. Apteva (talk) 09:28, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Comment - I think the point is that "Good Lovin'" should at the very least be a redirect to the song based on the number of page views and significance/notability of the record.Hoops gza (talk) 04:05, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- If it was a redirect, then this move proposal would be pro forma and could be executed without discussion because we don't redirect base names to disambiguated names. Either this is the primary topic or it isn't; no middle ground. Powers T 15:50, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
- Support. As a clear primary topic. Apteva (talk) 09:28, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. Even with high stats, I don't think this song is that memorable to everyone. Who is The Young Rascals nowadays? Even Tammy Wynette is more memorable. --George Ho (talk) 04:34, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
