Acto gunter's site, the following satellites were launched for GG research:

Name Launched Note
TRAAC 1961-11-15
GGSE 1 1964-01-11
GGSE 2 1965-03-09
GGSE 3 1965-03-09 I think this is a mistake
GGTS 1 1966-06-16
GGTS 2 1966-08-26
GGSE 4 1967-05-31
GGSE 5 1967-05-31 ditto
DODGE 1967-07-01

It's a little unclear how the ATS fit into this. Mangoe 02:30, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tested in Project Gemini

[edit]

It should be mentioned that at least one Project Gemini flight experimented with gravity-gradient stabilization, by tethering the Gemini vehicle to the Agena Target Vehicle. (Unfortunately, still wasn't too successful.) JustinTime55 (talk) 22:17, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Used by Transit 5A-3

[edit]

The article on Transit says that Transit 5A-3 used gravity-gradient stabilization in 1963, predating everything in this articl. The former includes a reference to a Johns Hopkins article (https://www.jhuapl.edu/Content/techdigest/pdf/V19-N01/19-01-Danchik.pdf) which says that gravity-gradient stabilization was part of the Transit program from 1960 on.
