Reversed "F"

I can't see the reversed "F" on the shoulder. —DIV (138.194.11.244 (talk) 06:32, 3 January 2012 (UTC))

Overuse of verbatim quotations?

Someone noted years ago at the talk page back in the days when this article was called "Che Guevara (photo)" that it had become a dense scrub of verbatim quotes of all kinds from various people. Most of the sixty quotes listed by that editor, Damiens, in 2008 are still around, and augmented with some more: by now there's more than a hundred direct quotations from individuals commenting on Che and the photo. Okay, some people feel that's exactly how a WP article should be constructed to make it verifiable, but when it goes this far it's more a sign that the article might be poorly written, and at risk of overstating somebody's points simply by firebombing the reader with strongly worded hyperbole statements. 83.254.151.33 (talk) 23:48, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Tony Evora

I met Tony Evora when he worked at Oxford Brookes and he I remember him describing how he made the popular poster image of Che from the Kodura photo. I remember that he was well known for that at Brookes at the time. Googling for that I found http://www.focsle.org.uk/first/openport3.pdf

He was largely responsible for popularising the image of Che
Guevara (b. 1928), creating the bi-tonal graphic from Korda’s
photograph for publication in a Cuban journal of which he was then art
director. In 1968, he reworked the ‘logo’, superimposing it on a map of
Bolivia (Che was shot dead there, that year).

See also http://radar.brookes.ac.uk/radar/items/cca28252-7eb4-33f6-518d-3ba09dcd0b0c/1/ So is this claim substantiated by other sources? I was surprised it is not mentioned in this article. Billlion (talk) 18:24, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Tony Evora was artistic director of "Lunes de Revolucion" for about 6 months. "Lunes de Revolucion" being the literary supplement to Cubas "Revolucion" - the official newspaper of the July 26 Movement (https://muse.jhu.edu/article/23858). Evora appears credited from issue 52 (28 Mar 1960) to issue 71 (3 Aug 1960). All these issues can be accessed digitally from http://ufdc.ufl.edu/AA00013450/00002/allvolumes. Kordas famous portrait does not appear in these issues. However issue 63 (http://ufdc.ufl.edu/AA00013450/00063) whose cover was presumably designed by Evora shows a stylized print of Che. I think it is likely Evora described making these images. I think given that "Revolucion" was the mostly widely read Cuban newspaper he may also arguably have been responsible for "popularising the image of Che Guevara", all be it not with Kordas famous image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C5:742B:6600:A57B:10DA:CB7D:915D (talk) 13:45, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
