Citations
[edit]If you want a citation for the sentence I added recently, you might as well require citations for each sentence. The information given in that sentence can be found in the book that is already in the References section (footnote number 2). Dogo (talk) 11:06, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Ctenodactylinae
[edit]Anaxial I see that you are correct that Ctenodactylinae is a rodent sub-family, but it is also the name of a sub-family of beetles. The Ctenodactylinae article is on the beetles, and the name is not referenced on Wikipedia as a rodent. I have added a hatnote to the Ctenodactylinae article, but this links to the Gundi article which does not mention the rodent sub-family. This causes confusion and reversion as an error when the name is used on Wikipedia for rodents. Do you have a suggestion how to deal with this problem? - I have no problem with mentioning the rodent subfamily in this article. The only issue is that it's not identical with the rodent family that is the subject of the article, but is a subtaxon within it. So we can put a few lines, with a suitable reference, here that the rodent family (Ctenodactylidae) includes, as a subdivsion, the subfamily Ctenodactylinae, along with some information(even if just the names) of any non-ctenodactyline ctenodactylids we can find. This might be a good source, especially if you have access to more of it than I do: https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1096-3642.2010.00615.x Anaxial (talk) 18:40, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
