Danish naval power

[edit]

In this article: “By the end of the 19th century, which had seen Denmark's decline from a major navy before the devastating Battle of Copenhagen in 1801 to a minor coastal defense force by the 1890”. I think this is a common misunderstanding. Allthough Denmark lost the battle of 1801 the real loss of naval power was not until the British attack in 1807 when almost the entite fleet was seized by the British. The two British attacks on Copenhagen has often been confused. Laluha (talk) 06:56, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're reading into the line something that is not present; it only states that the 1801 battle marked the beginning of Denmark's decline as a naval power, which is true. Parsecboy (talk) 09:27, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
