Medals: in 1967 I served in the RAF Near East Air Force HQ when AVM Martin was Senior Air Staff Officer. That was a long time ago now and I may be fooling myself. However I can now clearly visualise the Australia Service Medal among his chest full of ribbons. The colourful array of Honours and Awards in the main article does not include this one.Rupert Butler (talk) 22:53, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I first thought he would not have qualified for the ASM as he was in the RAF, not the Australian armed forces, but as the article says, he was a member of No. 455 Squadron RAAF in 1941. Not sure if he met the 18 month service requirement, or if his subsequent service in the RAF counted somehow, but I guess it's possible. We would need to see a published reference though, before adding to the article. --Canley (talk) 13:13, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speed Record

[edit]

For how long did his speed record for flying from London to Cape Town stand? How can one find out and add this info with a citation? 22:23, 16 December 2017 (UTC)Okan
