Quality

[edit]

Somewhat peacocky. He certainly was a good guy, but the article sounds like a saint biography, and would better serve the memory of Bullinger by neutrally treating his contributions (and possible criticism). Said: Rursus 10:46, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clerical marriage in 1504

[edit]

According to the article, Bullinger was born in 1504, the son of a virtual clerical marriage. However, this was before Huldrych Zwingli spoke up for clerical marriage in 1522 and before Martin Luther's marriage in 1525. Does it mean that the idea of clerical celibacy cracked down decades before the "official" start of the Reformation? Top.Squark (talk) 18:38, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Johann

[edit]

Some articles that I encounter mentioned about given name "Johann", but it's nowhere mentioned in the article. Looking at the interwiki, I saw only Polish Wikipedia using Johann at the title. I suppose that name should be mentioned at least once in the article. Bennylin (talk) 05:47, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for expansion

[edit]

This book has a lot that can be used for expansion if anyone wants to do it. I've done a lot for now. Don't have too much time to do more editing. https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Theology_of_Heinrich_Bullinger/hDa0DwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=bullinger+theology+of+book&printsec=frontcover Awsomaw (talk) 14:57, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible expansion soon

[edit]

@Yahnatan, John Foxe, HokieRNB, and One Salient Oversight: Forgive me for the pings; I found y'all on Wikiproject Calvinism. I am thinking about expanding this article into a good article in the next two months, and I am wondering if any of you would be interested and willing in helping me, not necessarily with content, but with style and procedure? I.e. formatting, rules and regulations, and the GA nomination process. I have time and interest in doing the research, I just don't know how much additional energy I'm willing to put into the behind-the-scenes stuff. We have Calvin, Zwingli, Bucer, Knox, and Beza at FA status; I think Bullinger needs a lift. Let me know! Awsomaw (talk) 22:11, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be glad to help with style, i.e. upper-level copy editing. I'll put the article on my watchlist, and hopefully I'll notice when you get cranking. John Foxe (talk) 02:41, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
