Birthplace?

[edit]

The blurb for Henry Foner's 2013 book Postcards to a Little Boy: A Kindertransport Story suggest (but does not outright state) that he was born "Heinz Lichtwitz" in Poland. In the book's story, young Henry is sent from Berlin to Wales, where he lives with Morris and Winifred Foner. The "postcards" in the title come from Henry's father, Max Lichtwitz, until his deportation to Auschwitz on December 9, 1942 and death a week later. The blurb then says, "Henry and his [adopeted]family moved to Israel in 1968 and made their home in Jerusalem," which does not follow the rest of Foner's life in the U.S. (unless they later moved to the States), nor does it mention his three brothers.

Can someone verify Foner's birth and background prior to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York? --Aboudaqn (talk) 22:49, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mystery solved: there was another "Henry Foner" who became a chemist in Israel and wrote the Postcards book: I will create a bio stub for him, add the book there, and remove the book on this profile --Aboudaqn (talk) 16:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
