Name
[edit]Was/is this fellow most commonly referred to as Henry Underhill, as H M J Underhill, or as something else? -- Hoary (talk) 06:39, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Most commonly as Henry Underhill. I used his full name in the title to link it to a page that does not yet exist under his name here: Henry Underhill Gbarber2 (talk) 14:08, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Got it. It doesn't seem as if Reg Underhill was/is often called Henry Underhill. You meant well, Gbarber2, but when there are only two alternative claimants to an article title and one is likelier than the other, there's no need to bother with a disambiguation page. (For another example among British photographers of something similar, see John Bulmer; though this is for the likeliest among three claimants.) -- Hoary (talk) 01:49, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
Minor mysteries
[edit]Does "provisions merchants store" mean "provisions wholesaler", or plain "provisions store", or something else?
The article describes the man as an artist and photographer, but says nothing to substantiate art other than photography. Was he an other-than-photography artist? -- Hoary (talk) 01:55, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
- I changed the phrase "provisions merchants store" to "provisions store".
- With regard to Underhill's position as an artist, the article discusses Underhill's hand-painted lantern slides which he used to illustrate his lectures and entertainment shows. Gbarber2 (talk) 14:14, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
