Arabic Translation

[edit]

User:Markh started this page by adding the following template:

ع This article is about a person, place, or concept whose name is originally rendered in the Arabic script; however the article does not have that version of its name in the article's lead paragraph. Anyone who is knowledgeable enough with the original language is invited to assist in adding the Arabic script.

For more information, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Arabic).

Heryshaf was not "originally rendered in the Arabic script." EgyptianEgyptian Arabic. Given that Modern Egypt uses Arabic, an Arabic transliteration might not be uncalled for, but it's certainly not necessary. --Iustinus 13:49, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean is that Ihnasiyyah al-Madinah needs to be transliterated into Arabic script. Markh 15:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
oooooh, ok. That's definitely worth getting. The template text seemed to refer to the title. --Iustinus 18:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually reading the template, you are right. We should be able to flag the phrase that needs to be transliterated. Markh 19:59, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
