Terminology
[edit]Let's make some hierarchy of roads:
- simple, unpaved road (földút)
- paved road (burkolt út)
- highway or highroad (közút) (e.g. Road 66 in the US, but we also have "66-os út" in Hungary) speed limit = 90 km/h
- speedway/motor-road (gyorsút/autóút) (examples in Hungary: M2, M0; speed limit = 110 km/h)
- motorway ("freeway" in the US; in Hungary you have to pay a toll for using them, as well as for the ones in 4) (examples in Hungary: M1, M3, M5, etc.) speed limit = 130 km/h
