Hiroko Mima, who was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2008, and Anya Ayoung-Chee, who was crowned Miss Universe 2008 of Trinidad and Tobago 2008, are in the middle of the scandal after an intimate video tape leaked allegedly showing them together having sex with Anya’s boyfriend and with each othe 61.113.174.133 (talk) 15:34, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

- I had not looked into this since the story broke awhile back. But it looks like her involvement was denied. It received tons of coverage and a line might still be OK based on that. Could be considered scandal mongering but it could also make it clear that she was likely not involved. I don't have a preference.[1] Cptnono (talk) 14:23, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Biography Mima was born in the Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, on December 05, 1986. After finishing high school in Tokushima, Mima attended Nihon University in Tokyo[5]. She was awarded a scholarship to study a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Physical Education, graduating in 2009[6]. Currently, Mima spends her time working as a beauty specialist, model, advisor for fashion, events and talent, while participating in charitable events to support disadvantaged children worldwide. Early Life Mima is born to her father Shigeo Mima (1954-2006), and mother Keiko Mima, tea ceremony teacher. She is the youngest of two children and has one sister Eiko Kihara. At the age of 13, she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome(GBS), and autoimmune disorder affecting 2 to 3 out of every 100,000 people, and recovered after 3 months of treatment [7] . A natural athlete, until she was diagnosed with GBS, she played basketball from the age of 6, but had to quit due to treatment[8]. After she was suggested to take up athletics post-treatment, she started competing in the high jump, going on to participate in National Athletics Championships for seven consecutive years from 2001-2008[9][10] [11]. One of her more notable performances was when she achieved 8th place in the Eastern Japan Competition for high jump in 2005[12]. Mima went for surgery on her right knee during 2005 which effectively ended her competitive sporting career in high jump[13] Miss Universe Mima is the winner of Miss Universe Japan 2008 [14]. She then went on to represent Japan at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam [15], placing in the Top 15 and also receiving best of Asia accreditation [16]. She was the third consecutive placement for Japan in the Miss Universe pageant having trained under famed beauty specialist Ines Ligron [17]. She then acted as a trainer for the 2009 Miss Universe Japan contestants Cite error: There are Career Post-Miss Universe After winning Miss Universe Japan 2008 Mima has garnered much attention in the fashion industry[18][19][20]. She has modeled for large international brands such as Revlon, Levi's, Harley Davidson, Jaguar, Armani Exchange, Evian, Mercedes Benz & Liberty Hills, Japan Airlines & OPI magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Proactiv and Toni & Guy [22] [23][24][25][26][27][28][29]. She was selected as the main model for the Under Armour advertising campaign in Japan for 2010, 2011 & 2012 [30][31]. Mima was a TV presenter for FOX Japan’s "Americas Next Top Model" and was the TV show host and interviewer for Fox Japan "NY collection 2014SS by Maybelline New York". She has also presented for NHK and Fuji TV [32][33][34]. Involvement in Charities Scandal In 2009 it was reported that Mima was involved in a sex tape scandal with winner of Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2008, Anya Ayoung-Chee.
