This expression is misleading. United Farmers parties were created and formed the government in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario, and the Progressive Party became the official opposition in Ottawa. However, none of these parties could be described as "right wing". The Ontario party was in coalition with the Labour Party and the federal Alberta MPs formed a caucus with the Independent Labour Party. Most of the members later drifted to the Liberals. Suggest changing the term to "populist parties in Ontario and Western Canada". --The Four Deuces (talk) 07:38, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
