the strange "gun"
[edit]What is Bart holding in the scene where he rummages through Patty and Selma's bras? And why is Lisa disgusted by it? -78.51.166.208 (talk) 15:42, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
It's a blackhead gun. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.30.136.125 (talk) 23:22, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi there, I'm Mm40 (talk) and I'll be checking this article against the good article criteria. I'll be watching this page, so you should just leave any responses here. Thanks, Mm40 (talk) 01:57, 10 April 2010 (UTC).
- Image
- I disagree with the first purpose of use in the fair-use rational for Image:Simpsons 8F14.png: "This image illustrates the text next to which it appears, which describes the item portrayed."
- It is not given adjacent to text which describes it
- The plot summary doesn't mention the puppet show at all
- I have removed the image. Theleftorium 19:13, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- Lead
- First paragraph: Should the overall episode number (50) be put in the lead?
- No, I don't think that's necessary. Theleftorium 19:13, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- First paragraph: In the sentence beginning "In the episode...", consider flipping the two parts of the sentence so they're in chronological order
- Second paragraph: A citation is needed after "deeper vein of comedy" in the second paragraph as it's a direct quote
- Second paragraph: "by having Marge have a" sounds odd; is it possible to reword this?
- Third paragraph: "finished the week ranked 25th" needs clarification: ranked 25th in what?
- Removed. Theleftorium 19:30, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- Plot
- Overall, the section has a couple of odd wordings (or places that seem particularly wordy). It passes the "clear prose" requirement of WP:GA?, but I suggest you seek a copy-editor
- "she is assured that she has nothing to worry about" could use a minor clarification: did Homer's response assure her, or something else?
- Fixed.
- Production
- "switching the institute to a vacation" you don't go to a vacation, you go on a vacation. Thus, this should should be "switching the institute to a spa"
- "In the scene where Homer sings" the article doesn't talk about this scene specifically, so it should be "In a scene where Homer sings"
- "for the episode, and animated several" remove the comma here to make it clearer that we're still talking about Dietter
- "although no attention was called to it" needs clarification. Does this mean that the people making the show ignored the request to make Homer look drunk, or that it wasn't very prominent in the actual episode?
- Was this fixed? Mm40 (talk) 11:11, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Cultural references
- "chases Bart is reference to the" is missing a word: "chases Bart is a reference to the"
- Reception
- What makes DVD Movie Guide reliable? Who has identified it as an important site for reviews?
- It is used in some of the sources here and here. Theleftorium 20:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- Are there any print (or newspaper) reviews?
- I'm afraid I couldn't find anything... Theleftorium 20:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- The section should mention when the episode airs
- If it was first shown on February 6, 1992, why would it be in the ratings for the week of November 12–18, 1990?
- Human error. I copied the basic formatting from another article, and forgot to fix the date. -- Scorpion0422 21:50, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- You use both "Fox network" (lead) and "Fox Network" (Reception)
- References
- It's a nitpick, I know, but the authors for A Complete Guide To Our Favorite Family should be formatted as such: "Richmond, Ray; Coffman, Antonia". Also, WorldCat lists Groening as an author. Should he be added? If so, it would be "Groening, Matt; Richmond, Ray; Coffman, Antonia"
- No, Groening did not author the book. Theleftorium 14:39, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
The rest of the review will be up tomorrow afternoon. Thanks, Mm40 (talk) 01:57, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review! I'll work on the article soon. Theleftorium 14:20, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- I've finished the rest of the review. Not surprisingly, another nice article, and it should pass after my trivial requests are taken care of. Thanks, Mm40 (talk) 01:12, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- OK then, I'm passing the article. Please note that the last point under Production needs to be taken care of. Thanks for your contributions, and please consider reviewing a nomination or two at GAN. Thanks, Mm40 (talk) 11:11, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
