Paskibraka
[edit]@Rochelimit: I'm not sure if I understand this. Maybe it is interesting and conveys that information to you as an Indonesian reader, but to me and probably the majority of our readers it's essentially meaningless promotional fluff. And for what it's worth, this article has sourcing problems (that section is based exclusively on primary sources) entirely aside from the copyright stuff; this kind of information would be best cited an independent reliable source, not the official website. - Yes, the paskibraka is a special group of talented youths that is invited every year to raise the Indonesian flag in the presidential palace. It is interesting to those who knows Indonesia. It's not promotional, it's more like "official" state ceremony. It's a very interesting fact actually.--Rochelimit (talk) 13:24, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Rochelimit: Then please find a better source for it. Hijiri 88 (聖やや) 20:28, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
- BTW:
It is interesting to those who knows Indonesia
shows the problem with articles written in this manner. English Wikipedia is not meant for people from Indonesia, any more than it is meant for people from Japan. It is meant for general readers of English, which is used globally but primarily by people in a small set of countries referred to as "English-speaking countries". id.wiki apparently does not have an article on this topic, but the kind of information you seem to want to want to write would probably be more at home there. (I also suspect that a major reason for the copyright problems might be your language proficiency making it difficult for you to accurately and sufficiently paraphrase English sources in English.) This is actually something I alluded to a few times last month with my concern that ENWIKIWAM is dominated by editors from Asian countries writing articles on their own countries with an audience of people from their own countries in mind -- and your articles aren't even the only ones that had both copy editing and copyright (well, attribution) concerns as a result of this phenomenon. - And then there's the problem that the source you took it from probably didn't include it on that basis since it is specifically targeted not only at those who don't know Indonesia but don't even read the language and are using online check-in to book a hotel.
