Qualification for I-league 2
How do teams qualify to play in the I-league 2 or on what basis are the clubs that play in the I-league 2 selected? I think this should be included in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Discoverer (talk • contribs) 03:59, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
Professional clubs have to play state championship, Then qualify by playing play offs and then get to Ileague 2.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Power366 (talk • contribs) 15:23, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Request to remove the line
"It was revealed by AIFF on May 17, 2016 that from 2017-18 season, the league will be called League Two and will be the third tier of India's new football structure.[1] The top tier of Indian football will be ISL and League One will become the second tier." - Would request to remove this line as it was just decided. The roadmap is yet to be finalised. Footballmasala (talk) 06:09, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yes it's not finalized yet, but this is the best information available, when more information is available, it can be corrected accordingly. Coderzombie (talk) 07:54, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
name change
on the official app, the league is now called "Hero 2nd Division League", so the new appropriate title should be 2nd Division League or 2nd Division League (India), but basically it's no longer I-League. Coderzombie (talk) 12:32, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
Division
Isl is India's first division according to AIFF road map . So i-league will be India's second division and i-league 2nd division will be India's third division Sinan 2004 (talk) 04:09, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- The current 2019–20 calendar has not ended yet. The new calendar is set to start 1 July 2020. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 05:15, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
Relegation
Teams are not relegated to state leagues but 'return back' to state leagues. I-League 2nd division is more of a final round for the state leagues and not a transitional division, for example, the winners of 2021-22 State Leagues get to play 2021-22 I-League 2nd division and not the 2022-23 season ideally. You cannot point out at one or some particular team(s) which get relegated by virtue of being last. Footy2000 (talk) 03:35, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
