[edit]There is a mistake on this page. The code shown was not invented by the Canadian Standards Association. The code is the typewriter-pairing version of APL/ASCII, which had previously existed as a de facto standard, along with bit-pairing APL/ASCII and the version of APL/ASCII used on the Model 38 Teletype, used by manufacturers of terminals.
