[edit]

I've slighty edited the "Widescreen" content, "15:9" is incorrect, it should be 14:9.

I have deleted the widescreen information; none of it is sourced and I'm not sure much of it is correct. Here is the text:

On analogue television, a 4:3 image is broadcast. However, on digital, instead of just broadcasting this 4:3 image, ITV have it cropped down to a 15:9 version. For a viewer of Freeview, for example, who has their box set on 'centre cutout', this means that the viewed image is missing about 50% of the transmitted when image compared to terrestrial analogue television.

15:9 does not exists, the only widescreen formats available is 16:9 and the cropped 14:9 Onshore —Preceding undated comment was added at 20:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]

The image File:NaT Mark Julie Trevor.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Neutrality

[edit]

The opening paragraphs don't seem to be neutral to me - things like the repetition of "praise and accolades". The article could also do with more citations. — Kurr 21:41, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't a very well written lead. I've removed the accolades and pointless list of news readers and added a couple of references. I found it difficult to source references more recent than the last contract negotiations in 2007. Having done that I took off Kurr's POV tag.

Controversy

[edit]

There needs to be a section on controversies around ITV's handling of news. For example, on the 21/06/2014 the BBC broadcast "The Battle For Stonehenge" which included ITV's closeup footage of the shocking attack by the police on the New Age Travellers at Stonehenge, footage that was not broadcast at the time. The BBC had no footage of its own, which is remiss.truthordare (talk) 20:46, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the people listed on this page are not notable per WP:LISTPEOPLE. There is simply not enough listed on here to be a stand-alone list. Corkythehornetfan (Talk) 19:00, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What would be merged is the people that are notable. (HINT: those are the people with blue links) Corkythehornetfan (Talk) 02:22, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
