haha?
[edit]is this redirect a joke? i find it rather amusing, but i think of all pages this one should certainly have a disambiguation page with a link to wiktionary (i dunno how to do that), along with the practical example (ie the link to 'dumbing down') 124.150.56.235 (talk) 07:42, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Warning
[edit]In these edits you are violating the WP:PARAPHRASE rule. Hawaan12 (talk) 03:36, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Hawaan12:A definition cannot be paraphrased too liberally. A wikipedian has to deliver the exact meaning, not interpretations. In your example, "treating as a child" cannnot be paraphrased "treating as a subordinate". This will be completely wrong. - üser:Altenmann >t 03:41, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- If you only take that sentence, then you may have a point. When when the whole page is taken into account, it is not too liberal. And your English is obviously substandard since you don't even know what the word paraphrase means. Plus, you seem to be downplaying the seriousness of copyright violation. Hawaan12 (talk) 04:05, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Hawaan12:We are talking about two sentences, definitions, with attribution. Please explain how you concluded I don't know what paraphrase means. Also, you are not addressing my objections. Or you think that "threating as a child" is the same as "treating as a subordinate"? - üser:Altenmann >t 04:12, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- P.S. in the future please keep in mind that article content is discussed in article talk pages, where other wikipedians can join the discussion. - üser:Altenmann >t 04:20, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Infantilization of elderly people also needs to be covered in this article
[edit]Anyone wishing to expand this article to cover the problems of infantilization of elderly people could begin with:
Dolinsky, Elaine H.; Dolinsky, Herbert B. (July 1984). "Infantilization of elderly patients by health care providers". Special Care in Dentistry. 4 (4): 150–153. doi:10.1111/j.1754-4505.1984.tb00351.x.

- @Dodger67: I know it's been 5 years but you still seem to be active, so I thought I'd let you know that I still think this is a good idea. There's also this [1]. Clovermoss (talk) 01:04, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Clovermoss Thanks, I'll take a look. Although my interest is from the disability angle, elder care is indeed an important aspect. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 06:51, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
