Activism

[edit]

I added some details of Thompson's activism including her departure from the board of the Oregon Bicycle Racing Association. This was removed and replaced a paragraph on the work she did gathering signatures. I think both are relevant, so I have re-added the paragraph I originally added. The paragraph on the signatures does not, however, have a citation, so I added a citation needed tag. Hdevine825 (talk) 15:48, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Help

[edit]

I have many people trying to edit my page without my permission. How do I lock my wiki page? Thank You, Inga Thompson— Preceding unsigned comment added by WomenOlympians (talkcontribs)

WomenOlympians Respectfully, it is not "your wiki page", but a Wikipedia article about you. While your input is welcome, you have no more rights to it than any other person. See WP:OWN. I might first suggest that you confirm your identity by emailing info-en@wikimedia.org.
If there is a demonstratable, intractable problem with vandalism(efforts to deface the article) or the posting of defamatory information that blocking individual editors does not solve, you may request page protection at WP:RFPP. However, articles are not protected from editing("locked") merely to prevent others from editing them or to protect the subject's preferred wording. Any person on this planet is permitted to contrbute to this or any article. Wikipedia does have a strict policy about how living persons are edited about, see WP:BLP. This policy requires information to be accurate and sourced to an independent reliable source. If there are specific errors in this article about you, and you have a published reliable source to support them, please tell us what the errors are. We can't just accept your word, for verification purposes. 331dot (talk) 22:14, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
