Hensel
[edit]I created the article on W. U. Hensel yesterday. According to the sources I cite there, Hensel in fact purchased a half-interest in the paper in 1874 when he was 23—his father was rich!—in addition to being its editor. As written on this page, it appears that he was simply hired on as the editor, as early as 1866. Perhaps of interest: as a lawyer, one of his editorials critical of a judge was viewed as out of bounds and Hensel was disbarred. This was reversed upon appeal to the state Supreme Court.
Note that there are Hensel Roads in the area. Choor monster (talk) 14:12, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Lancaster Daily Intelligencer
[edit]Where does the Lancaster Daily Intelligencer fit in this history? Seems an oversight.4meter4 (talk) 16:55, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
