Problematic

[edit]

This article was created via a problematic split from Criticism of the Catholic Church; see Talk:Criticism of the Catholic Church#Other side of the same coin and the sections above that section. Transclusions may need to be removed, as they appear to have been added with little care as to to reviewing the content to determine if there was actually reliably sourced criticism in the transcluded content. This page was only created after a consensus decided to split the page at Talk:Criticism of the Catholic Church.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 04:18, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This is misleading. As you know, the problem is not that you split the article (which was my suggestion) with consensus. The problem is that you did NOT split content from Criticism of the Catholic Church; you also transcluded content from other articles, that may or may not have reliably sourced content, and you demonstrably did this with little care, as you have been shown examples where you liberally transcluded pages with no content critical of the Catholic church. All of your work needs to be checked. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:27, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw this. The section on Islam is a lot of nonsense. There are millions of Catholics; is every time one of them says something dumb necessarily noteworthy? Burke is very opinionated. As a vocal critic of the Pope, he doesn't quite seem like a spokesperson for the Church, and he doesn't even speak for the USCCB. Mannanan51 (talk) 17:09, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pierre Claverie

[edit]

The section entitled "Criticism of interfaith dialogue by Pierre Claverie, a French prelate" seems to contradict the Pierre Claverie article which states that contrary to criticizing interfaith dialogue "he was committed to ecumenism and dialogue with the Islamic faith and dreamed of a peaceful co-existence with Muslims in an independent Algeria." Also, there is absolutely no content on THIS page that remotely suggests Claverie criticized interfaith dialogue. If anything, the section title appears to distort the known facts about the man. What's up with that? Mannanan51 (talk) 22:08, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am of no help. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:17, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@SandyGeorgia: Finished incorporating this back to Criticisms page. I saw that you cleaned up the backlinks on "Controversies involving Catholic Organizations". Thank you . The same exists here and on the Talk page, but I am unfamiliar with the correct process. Mannanan51 (talk) 20:52, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
