Talk:Israeli coastal plain
ENTIRE page based on just ONE source
[edit]Even if it's a quasi-official Israeli one (Ministry of Tourism), it's not enough. Some count the Sharon Plain to the Central Coastal Plain, I don't see why that should be less valid.
This dependence on just one source leads to a lot of tricky issues. All the inaccuracies of the "goisrael" page are repeated here. Arminden (talk) 13:56, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Southern Coastal Plain
[edit]"Southern Coastal Plain" of historical Palestine includes the Gaza Strip; only the S.C.P. of Israel does not. Very important point. Best proof: the WP article claimed for a long time, totally wrong, that the S.C.P. "stretches TO the Gaza Strip". No, it is its hinterland (once you take Gaza out of the S.C.P., geographically speaking). Before 1948, the Gaza Strip pretty much WAS the S.C.P. Arminden (talk) 13:57, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Title: Coastal Plain with capital letters please
[edit]... (including its subdivisions), as these are used here as standing terms, as proper names of clearly defined and often referred to geographical regions. Who can take care of it? Thanks, Arminden (talk) 13:59, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Geographical region, not admin. entity
[edit]... in its entirety, as well as regarding its subdivisions. So please don't confuse regional councils of the same name (admin. entities), with the geographical subdivisions. They don't fully overlap. Arminden (talk) 14:02, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

Entire Levantine coastal plain needs article
[edit]Israel's coastal plain is distinct in terms of modern political geography and it's good that we have this article, but in terms of physical geography and history, we need the whole thing.
Israel's coastal plain is just a segment of the Levantine coastal plain. Even in order to understand this segment geopolitically, historically, hydrographically, damn, even militarily, more context is needed. At least the Syrian coast (today including Lebanese coast) and today's Gaza coast are geographically part of the same unit, as the Egyptians very well knew (see Retjenu), or the Crusaders and everyone before & after them. Northern limit Taurus, southern limit Sinai. Who gives it a try? Arminden (talk) 14:11, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
Samaria and Judea
[edit]Why are these antiquated and inaccurate names used for areas encompassing Gaza and the West Bank?
This suggests that the entire page has been written from a heavily biased and factually incorrect perspective. This is the complete opposite to what i understand Wikipedia is supposed to be about? 2A10:D582:30A2:0:BC05:DCBD:C752:399C (talk) 21:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
