Unsourced genres

[edit]

The info box has five unsourced genres: "blues, blues-rock, country rock, americana, british blues." They do not seem to be directly supported or sourced in the text. I see that new editor User:Lemonlightning removed them (although without any explanation in an edit summary). I'm not sure why they have been restored. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:35, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Martinevans123 I think maybe we should try to source them rather than removing. So here's my bit:
  • For Americana, see this [1]
  • For Blues, see this [2]
  • It's sure that Blues rock is one of his genres after having a glance at the fact that he plays rock and blues both.
  • For Country Rock, see this [3] (which actually can be used as a citation for blues and others too.
  • And for British Blues, i don't know... It's tough to find. He is a British and plays blues so i think that might be enough😂.

So my verdict is that - Let it remain as it is. Have a good day Marty. ClumsyMind (talk) 08:13, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ClumsyMind. Many thanks for looking for sources. Far more productive than just lazily removing claims, of course, without any explanation. Music genre as a topic is a little tricky and undefined, I think. That first source says "who adopts Americana folk elements into his music." Not exactly a strong source for placing Bugg firmly within that genre? Martinevans123 (talk) 08:21, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Martinevans123 Maybe or Maybe not. I am not too much familiar with identifying musical genres at this time. I just like to hear good music which I like but in my opinion, Americana is probably not one of his genres. And for Hearts That Strain, many of other musical platforms haven't included Americana in the "associated genre". I think you can either add a " Citation needed" template or remove it anyways. Yours Welcome! ClumsyMind (talk) 08:43, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK. All other genres apart from Indie folk are in need of a source. And I think the infobox is meant to summarise the article, so they should really all appear in the text as well. I'll try and search for some sources too. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:02, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
