Please remove the piece about Jake Paul being married to Erika Costell. They are not married. It was just for show. We know that because Tessa Brooks, who was also "married", talked about how Chessa is ending because they don't want their friendship to go too far. --Smghz (talk) 14:39, 21 October 2017 (UTC) Further evidence of the marriage being fake in the new york times. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/08/fashion/jake-paul-team-10-youtube.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by S14182 (talkcontribs) 20:30, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Change his place of birth from Cleveland Ohio to Westlake Ohio as noted in this article http://www.cleveland.com/tv-blog/index.ssf/2016/06/cleveland_native_jake_paul_jumps_from_social_media_stardom_to_bizaardvark.html 107.10.36.3 (talk) 17:46, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Not done: The caption for the photo in the article linked says he "grew up in Westlake" but the text twice calls him a "Cleveland native", neither really sustaining a change of birthplace. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 19:17, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

For instance, someone could have been born at Prentice Women's Hospital in Chicago but have grown up in a suburb such as Rosemont, Illinois. In that case, the person's birthplace indeed would be Chicago, despite them never having actually been a resident of Chicago itself. This, perhaps, is the case with Jake Paul. He might have been born in a Cleveland hospital, but raised in a Cleveland suburb. SecretName101 (talk) 01:01, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

The only possible answer I have for the requests made to do this is that people gullibly took a youtube video where Jake apparently "married" said girl at face-value. It does not appear that this was by any means an actual marriage, from what I can gather about it. SecretName101 (talk) 00:57, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Nothing says he was fired. The Deadline article and Jake Paul himself just said he was leaving. Claiming he was fired is WP:OR. Amaury (talk | contribs) 15:10, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I've had a similar problem over at Alexa Nikolas where an IP editor has wanted to say she was "fired" when sourcing doesn't support that. In this case, based on Paul's own statement, it would be best to say something along the lines of "...[Paul] left [Bizaardvark] in July 2017..." rather than he was "fired" or even that he was "let go". While I have no doubt Paul was "pushed out" by Disney, the public record on this makes it appear to be a "mutual decision". That's nowhere near support necessary to say that he was "fired"... --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:31, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Gathering from the info provided in this article, one might be as correct presuming that Team 10 is a taco truck franchise as they would be in presuming that it is a youtube collaborative. The article NEEDS to do better than this. It is necessary that a well-cited and brief description of what Team 10 is be provided.

Additionally, perhaps consider giving Team 10 its own subsection within the article.

Mystery Box Controversy?

You're doing it wrong

I saw a question about this article come up on the refdesk (should have been discussed on the talk page). Looking at this article, the structure seems all wrong. Most of it has been shoved into a "miscellaneous drawer" by the name of Controversies -- I know other Wikipedia articles have controversy sections, but they're always trouble, and in this case it has eaten most of the article. The proposed text (at the Refdesk) was going to call him a rapper, actor, and internet personality -- that would be a good plan to split up the article, though you should do it (both in sections and as lead summary) in chronological order. You should have a section on Vine, one on the MTV show or whatever it was, one on YouTube, one on rapping, etc. Shove all that controversy stuff into those sections, and voila! you'll notice you talk about the gripe about his song, but not what the song was or its audience or reception and so on. Ditto all the other stuff, more or less, except the parties and neighbor issues sound more like a personal life section.

Controversies sections make for bad articles! Wnt (talk) 13:36, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

"It's Everyday Bro" should be mentioned in the opening paragraph.

That seems to have been his moment of mainstream fame and what he is primarily known for. At least deserves a mention. Nikki Lee 1999 (talk) 21:31, 26 February 2020 (UTC)

Rapper As Profession And Less Repetitive Use of Surname

Everyone knows that he started his rap career with the release of It's Everyday Bro as a part of Team 10, but is it a good idea to have rapper before actor and Internet personality? Cause that's what he is when he makes his music.

In addition to this, the redundancy of last name isn't too well fitting. Logan's must be left alone. And the lead sentence in his page rather be like "an American actor Internet personality and recording artist."

Also a page for Shakey his collab with Greg Cipes should be created. He was only 18 when he released it.

How about changing this to a looting incident in the aftermath of the police brutality-related death of George Floyd, and making the link to “George Floyd”. It’s unclear whether Jake Paul’s participation in the Scottsdale incident actually had any relation to protesting the death of George Floyd. I added the "Attending a riot at an Arizona mall" section back after it was deleted because the editor said it wasn't "vocational" related. "Use of the word 'nigga'" directs to an article on the phonetic spelling of the N-word. As this is apparently an audio performance, and the word is merely the phonetic spelling of the N-word, there is no way of telling if the word ends in 'A' or in 'ER'. The link should be to the 'ER' version of the word. Particularly as there isn't a difference between the words, other than how it is written down.

"Professional boxing". Is there any particular official boxing body that made this particular boxing match 'professional'? If so, was it an open category, or specificaly a category for YouTube boxers?

Is this guy married or not? Marriage is a legal binding contract in his country, and is a bit like pregnancy. So either he is married, or he is not. This should be made clearer. --82.21.97.70 (talk) 14:37, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

There's this reference from the Independent that's already used for the fight result that says the bout was professional. There's this link that explicitly states it was professionally sanctioned but I can't find any that specifically mention the CSAC. It's only they who have the authority to sanction professional boxing in the state of California though, but without a source naming them it would probably be best to leave the CSAC out. – 2.O.Boxing 14:21, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

The first paragraph is good - albeit needs some serious bias edits. The sexual assault allegations are not proven and therefore should remain in the controversies tab and not in the main paragraph. Many celebrities (including Will Smith, Kobe Bryant) have been accused of sexual assault and none of that is featured in their main bio’s but rather exists solely in their respective controversies tab.

I motion this movement for two reasons: - The continuity, and maintenance of the Wikipedia prerogative. - To discourage bias on Wikipedia. JasonMoore (talk) 15:42, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

Jake Paul is not a participant in professional boxing associations. His fights are highly publicized amateur fights and not organized by the WBU, ABO or other professional organizations. Amateur record table

@Blahwikiblah: The purpose of a record table is to give readers easy access to relevant fight details that would otherwise be buried in a lengthy prose. His single amateur bout is covered by a single short paragraph that would take just as long to read as it would to view the information in the table. It's unnecessary clutter. – 2.O.Boxing 22:10, 6 August 2022 (UTC)

People have easier access and more quickly delivered info in the form of a record table. An amateur fight is an extension of a boxing career record. A significant fight as well with a lot of attention. A lot of fights have articles but the record is easier for the public viewing. This is common among many fighter pages throughout Wikipedia. Blahwikiblah (talk) 22:46, 6 August 2022 (UTC)

It's an interesting one. I've never seen amateur records on boxers' articles, but I always thought that's just because they're difficult to source. Their inclusion, even if just for one fight, I have no problem with. However, for those with amateur records comprising hundreds of fights, that would need some thought as it may go into WP:LISTCRUFT and WP:NOTDATABASE territory. Jake’s main photo is from 2019 - we are now in 2023. It looks like it was updated then changed back. He now is even more ugly and needs a new photo that represents what he looks like in 2023 not 2019 which is a rat. Hiwikiimcoco (talk) 19:55, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Honorary titles protection request

These titles are factual and standard in the boxing world. Each Honorary title is referenced and are common among prize fighters. Honorary titles are noted among the Wikipedia pages of other pro boxers. This is factual information and because you declare them “meaningless” your feelings should not be involved one way or the other, we should deal in facts. Change "He is widely regarded as the greatest youtube-boxer of all time" to "As of 2023, he ranks very high among youtube-boxers"

This is just a less biased way of stating the above. Thanks for your consideration :) StratusFearMe2121 (talk) 11:11, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Not done: the statement is sourced. If you want to dispute it, then you need to provide other sources that contradict what it says. M.Bitton (talk) 11:42, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
That "source" is clearly biased. "greatest YouTube boxer of all time" isn't a legitimate rank by any sports outlet. It's a ridiculous statement to make. Change it ffs. 40.129.49.206 (talk) 19:37, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

Jake's fight with Askren sold 500,000 ppv buys, not 1.5 million. Link below with proof. Please change this in the table reporting his ppv buys for his fights.

https://thesportsrush.com/ufc-mma-boxing-news-how-many-ppv-buys-did-jake-paul-vs-ben-askren-do-is-the-problem-child-quitting-boxing/ 2601:981:C281:D3E0:42C:A0AD:2A43:795B (talk) 21:41, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. In the reference provided, the PPV buys are discussed as "reportedly" being a certain number, but no source for this reporting is given. Paul, in a linked video short, discusses buys and what he calls "pre-buys" — but again, no source is given by him or the article to substantiate which number is accurate. Paul is a problematic source for information on his own PPV numbers, as any information he could offer naturally exists under a conflict of interest, and is thus open to higher scrutiny. A more reliable, neutral source on the number needs to be provided. Regards,  Spintendo  00:00, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
the wikipedia page for asken vs paul says it sold 500,000 buys... be consistent... 2601:981:C281:D3E0:AC93:56AD:C60C:A9E4 (talk) 17:09, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
why would he lie and say it sold less? 1.5 million is not correct... change it... 2601:981:C281:D3E0:AC93:56AD:C60C:A9E4 (talk) 17:10, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
triller reported the 1.5 million... they aren't a reliable source...
"In September 2020, Triller claimed to serve 100 million active monthly users, but this number was quickly disputed by six former employees interviewed by Business Insider. Within a few weeks of Triller's claim, employees shared screenshots of the company's internal analytics that showed less than 2.5 million active monthly users. The number of Triller's app installations came under scrutiny around the same time. Third-party analytics firm Apptopia estimated only 52 million lifetime installations of the app by August 2020 while Triller claimed 250 million. Triller threatened to sue Apptopia for publishing the report."
change it... 2601:981:C281:D3E0:AC93:56AD:C60C:A9E4 (talk) 17:44, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
I gave you reliable sources... change it to 500k... you're spreading misinformation by not changing it... your own wiki page for their fight says it's 500k buys... 2601:981:C281:D3E0:A8A3:A394:64E6:342C (talk) 18:04, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
just continue to lie then... this is why people see wikipedia as a joke now... you're not a reliable source of information and you are extremely biased... 2601:981:C281:D3E0:A8A3:A394:64E6:342C (talk) 18:20, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
How is Triller a reliable source?? Reading this makes me realize how disingenuous Wikipedia can be. If you really think it did 1.5 million, you should not be moderating Wikipedia. 40.129.49.206 (talk) 19:40, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

Most Valuable Promotions

In 2021, Paul, alongside his adviser Nakisa Bidarian, founded a boxing promotion titled 'Most Valuable Promotions.' The promotions first singing was of Puerto Rican boxer and seven-division world champion Amanda Serrano.[73]

This is a typo. It should be "signing". Galtstriker19 (talk) 05:06, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
