Repetition of sect information

[edit]

Hi @ParvatPrakash,

Mentioning a temple is governed by a trust and mentioning the name of the sect is sufficient. The same has been sufficient for over 100 Jain temples articles. Is there a particular reason why sect information should be repeated multiple times for this particular site? Pratyk321 (talk) 13:58, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! Actually, the reason I believe it be kept is that it also shows the history of the temple. I know mentioning the sect has been enough for all other Hindu and Jain temples, so I didn't want it to be kept only for that. Since I saw a history section on this page, I thought the notice would find a good place here. If you think it's not appropriate, I don't mind if it isn't kept. I feel it's just a unique piece of information because it is an original notice. However, if you think it isn't required, it can be eliminated. @ParvatPrakash
Thank you for your prompt response! I recommend removing the image of the notice. I also appreciate your contributions to this article and suggest expanding the section on the temple's architecture and history—perhaps by including information on renovations, supported by reliable sources. @Pratyk321 Ok. I agree that we can remove the notice. I'm trying to find information about the renovation, but very few reliable sources have published much about it. Even finding the name of the trust managing the temple was hard without visiting and seeing this notice myself. To me, it seems like Jal Mandir has long been ignored by scholars. However, there is some Svetambara literature about its history. I will add information if I find a source that's reliable enough and not just mythology. Thank you very much for discussing. Thanks @ParvatPrakash
Agreed, considering the importance of this pilgrimage site, the article needs a lot of work. I'll try to find sourced information as well.
Thanks a lot for your contribution. Pratyk321 (talk) 04:25, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
