This information confirms Daugherty's life and work for the PWAP during Roosevelt's administration and suggest place to see his murals. (He was not merely an illustrator of children's books.)"

I am in touch with several Daugherty historians -- eg Rebecca Lawton-- and am developing an updated text for the wikipedia page. Probably this will be finished and entered in early July. most importantly, for anyone reading these notes, Daugherty is notable as:

primarily - An important American modernist artist, working in the mediums of painting, drawing, printmaking, and murals. He was active in the synchronist movement.

Also - Daugherty was also an illustrator, who worked on many children's books, some of which he also authored. Andy and the lion is a well known example.
