The result of the move request was: moved. Clear consensus to move to James Ferguson (Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton footballer) since there are two supporters including the nominator. It was agreed over James Ferguson (1900s–1910s footballer) per WP:CONSISTENCY with James Ferguson (Queen's Park footballer). (closed by non-admin page mover) Safari ScribeEdits! James Ferguson (footballer, fl. 1905-15)James Ferguson (1900s–1910s footballer) – or James Ferguson (Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton footballer). Date ranges usually use an en dash rather than hyphen. Apparently, "fl." is an abbreviation of the Latin word floruit, roughly meaning "flourished" or "active", but to me its meaning seems rather obscure. I found a total of 150 articles on Wikipedia that have that in their titles – 26 of which are about footballers. Note also Jim Ferguson (footballer), James Ferguson (Queen's Park footballer), and Jimmy Ferguson (footballer). — BarrelProof (talk) 00:55, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support 'James Ferguson (Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton footballer)' to match similar case at James Ferguson (Queen's Park footballer). Other players of same name were active in 1900s and 1910s, see e.g. Jim Ferguson (footballer) who was active late 1910s, so the 'James Ferguson (1900s–1910s footballer)' option is ambiguous.
