Remove "this article relies on primary sources" tag

[edit]

I would like to make changes to this article, but because I am a paid editor (paid by the University of Toronto) I would like to run these changes on the Talk page first. In particular, I would like to remove the "This article relies on references to primary sources" box. I think the simplest way to remove this box is by removing references 3,4,5 and 6. However, I don't want to get flagged for conflict of interest. Can anyone help? Varblues69 (talk) 18:42, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • But references 1 and 2 are sort of primary sources, and they dont really contain much information about Rutka. Removing the other references would leave very little on this article, making it a stub. References shouldnt be removed just because the article relies on them. The best way to remove the box would be to add some secondary and tertiary sources. Benboy00 (talk) 02:35, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thanks for the information. I will look for secondary and tertiary sources. Varblues69 (talk)

Conflict of interest reminder

[edit]

Editors who are in any way "connected" with this person, as well as editors who have any personal or professional motivation to see that this person has a "good" Wikipedia article, should read WP:Conflict of interest, WP:Undue weight, and WP:NOTPROMO. In fact, editors with a real "conflict of interest" should avoid making "edits of substance" directly to this article at all. Instead, they should propose a change on this talk page.

The mere fact that this person was awarded Order of Ontario makes notability a non-issue. However, that's not grounds to turn this article into a comprehensive writeup of his professional life. Just highlight his most important contributions to medicine and leave it at that.

If he wins a Nobel Prize or some equivalent award, then the general public will be more interested in the less-important aspects of his career. Until then, shorter is better. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:33, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
