The challenge
[edit]Uneven portion in all the sections, too much on Historical Context. One Challenge as I am reading the sources: I don't know about Portuguese and I have no idea of what the original source was about.
Japanese Cuisine in Brazil:
Historical Context: A good amount of details about how Japanese struggled to adapt to Brazilian food culture. Good combinations of Japanese food culture with Japanese phrases and English interpretation, which built up readers’ multicultural view. A widely covered and neutral information presented in the section about Japanese gradually had Japanese food available in Brazil and Brazilian perceptions about Japanese food. The section was clearly presented as it had no confusion words. It’s better to provide some more historical background about Japanese immigration on Japanese’s push and pull factors and the origin of those immigrants. Certain group of immigrants from specific regions, the historical background that made Japanese moved to Brazil and how did Brazil and Japan built up diplomatic relationship during that time. There should be more elaboration on different Japanese immigrants groups. As it was known that some Okinawans were unwilling to assimilate in Japan as a result of their unique culture, they moved to Brazil to escape the oppression. Those Japanese immigrants might also contributed to immigrants’ culture based on their regional feature. It is important to cover every aspect of Japanese immigration with historical background, factors that led to migration to Brazil and their cultural adjustment to Brazil. This article I could reference for my article on “Chinese Brazilians” as I could focus my research on why Chinese moved to Brazil as laborers, push and pull factors and cultural adjustments to Brazil.
Japanese food present in Brazil: The section strongly stressed the change of Japanese cuisine because of immigration. Geographical and cultural differences might lead to the ingredients change, but this has changed Japanese Cuisine in a good way that they innovated new dishes. It is exhilarating to see various dishes, but it would be better to include more Japanese Brazilian dishes and people’s reactions. Food is an important element to pull different social and cultural groups together. It would be amazing to elaborate on how Japanese Brazilian food influence different groups and the dynamics among them. I could add this similar section in my “Chinese Brazilian” article as I would elaborate on how Chinese Cuisine was changed in Brazil because of immigration and the public perception of Chinese food in Brazil.
Trivia:
It was good to know about the name of the first restaurant in Sao Paulo, which it could provide readers who has interest in Japanese Brazilian food culture. It would be better if the editor could elaborate on the restaurant’s history on who, why and how the owners founded it. The first restaurant should elaborate more on the historical significance and the impact to the community during that time.
A short brief history of Japanese Brazilians who expanded Japanese influence outside of Liberdade. It would be better that the editor could elaborate on non-Japanese’s reactions towards Japanese groups and the impact on Sao Paulo different cultural groups.
The section title could be better phrased as “Japanese Cultural influence in Sao Paulo” because trivia means information of little importance and the content was more on Japanese Brazilians in Sao Paulo instead of including other Japanese in other cities. This section could also combine with the previous section on Japanese food representation by writing a subsection on Japanese Cuisine specifically in Sao Paulo. I could also implement this in my article on Chinese Brazilians, as many Chinese live in Sao Paulo as well and how Chinese Cuisine impact the local communities overall.
All the sources are in Portuguese, as not all the readers are proficient in Portuguese. It would be more helpful if the editor could add some English reference articles

[edit]The article covered well on the history if Japanese Cuisine in Brazil, as it would be helpful for me on my research on writing how Japanese adapted to Brazil after immigration. It would be better if you could cover more on Brazilians' perception on Japanese food. Japanese Brazilian Cuisine Globally
[edit]Japanese Brazilian Cuisine may have originated in São Paulo, but its influences extend on a global scale. Moving into Europe, Japanese Brazilian cuisine has recently started to started to open restaurants. One of the prime examples of this cuisine in a European setting is the restaurant Temakinho. Tamakis, a food heavily associated with Japanese Brazilian cuisine along with various sushi rolls are the primary foods served. The temakies are prepared right after your order by the chefs at Temakinho to guarantee the crispiness of the seaweed. The rice comes from controlled farming and its cooked daily. All the fish is rigorously fresh and slaughtered according to current standards in order to guarantee all the healthy properties and making it a meal suitable for everybody, including pregnant ladies. The intersectionality of Japanese Brazilian cuisine in the western world is important to note because it displays the impact outside of the originally small community affect of this cuisine and culture.
