Freeway?

How is the modern New Jersey Turnpike a "freeway"? That term, virtually unknown in New Jersey to begin with, refers to a toll-free road, which the Turnpike, by definition, is not. I'm not sure what article to link there instead, but I would suggest it not be that one. Mjj237 23:06, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if it is accurate (as there are no sources cited for this particular assertion), but the article for "freeway" specifically mentions that although many "freeways" are non-toll, this is not the defining attribute of such a road. In fact, it goes on to say, many freeways (of which the New Jersey Turnpike is) do, in fact charge a toll. -Seidenstud 05:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
