References
[edit]The only reference to PFC Bennett that I could find was a small paragraph at the end of this article at the Washington Post website. Movementarian 14:32, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
- Added Fox News ext. link. This does not cover the content, needs better references.--FloNight 23:44, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
- The article from the Washington Post linked above (and now listed in the main article) provides the information in the last paragraph. Movementarian 09:21, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
The best source is the Serrano article. It is available at the bottom of the following page (note that Bennett neither murdered the girl nor was convicted of murder - it was attempted murder): http://www.deathrowspeaks.info/military/militarydeathrow.html 09 July 2006 (PS)
Somehow I don't find deathrowspeaks.info a reliable source. Pillowmurder (talk) 04:55, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Time
[edit]In some articles (like this CNN Report) the time for the crime is given as December 1955; this can't be correct, because all occupation troops from WWII had to leave Austria by October 1955 due to the articles of the Austrian Peace Treaty from May 15, 1955.
Reference for January as time of the crime: http://www.deathrowspeaks.info/military/militarydeathrow.html#articles

Was it?
[edit]The article says his execution was approved, but then it says the family wrote and asked them to spare his life. Was he executed, or spared? Nerrolken (talk) 17:06, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- He was executed.--Rockfang (talk) 18:53, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
The last military execution
[edit]The article claims this was the second to last military execution but I can only find evidence that it was the last one. If the subject of this article wasn't the last to be executed, who was? According to this article http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/29/us/29execute.html?_r=1 Pvt. Ronald A. Gray is the last to be sentenced to death but is still alive and his case is undergoing an appeals process. Freedomrevolution (talk) 13:09, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- You're right. I've undone the last edit done by an anonymous editor. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 21:16, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
