unreferenced tag

[edit]

I'm restoring the unreferenced tag to this article in good humor and good faith. It needs a reference or two. --Lockley (talk) 10:03, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies for removing the tag. In my haste I didn't carefully read the tag; I took it to mean that the page wasn't linked to by any other WP page. You are correct that the page needs some references. -- Christopher Rath (talk) 23:42, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re Restoration to Article

[edit]

@Crath:: It's not the case for any article that one must "post a Notabiity tag and wait for it to time out". Depending on the article it might be a good idea, but any editor can apply WP:NOPAGE and attempt a WP:BOLD merge and/or redirect, and in the case of albums, it's fairly routine nowadays for unreferenced (or under-referenced, in the case where there's eg. a review cited. but a search doesn't reveal more) articles to be redirected to the band or musician - you'll notice that the tag even highlights that "Unsourced material may be challenged and removed". Although any editor can revert such a redirection per WP:BRD, if you are reverting unreferenced material then WP:BURDEN kicks in: "The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution". I look forward to the notability and unreferenced tags being removed one way or another. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 14:30, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
