location and context

[edit]

This new article is about a house in the Philippines? Or where? What is the address and state and country? And/or coordinates? The article has been nominated for deletion, perhaps partly because the context is not explained. --doncram 21:58, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Per http://www.philippineheritagemap.org/blog/marker/category/ancestral-houses/, the house is apparently located at "Jusay Ancestral House, I. Delos Reyes St., Brgy 467, Sampaloc, Manila". Hmm, does that mean the intersection of Delos Reyes St. and another street? And "See more at: http://www.philippineheritagemap.org/blog/marker/jusay-ancestral-house-adelina-st-brgy-467-sampaloc-manila/#sthash.z8GBJSCA.dpuf". --doncram 23:05, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, i think it means the intersection of Adelina St. and Delos Reyes St. Using "satellite view" of Google maps, i am not yet sure which building it is, of 4 buildings at corners of that intersection. --doncram 23:10, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So I added coordinates into the article, pointing to the middle of the intersection for now. It would be great if anyone could refine the coordinates to point to the actual building, and/or explain here which building they should be changed to. The coordinates now point to this point which you can look at in various map systems. --doncram 18:47, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

sourcing

[edit]

Sourcing of this article has been discussed at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan_Philippines#Documentation for Jusay Ancestral House and other National Heritage Houses?. There has been a tag on this article about it possibly including Original Research wp:OR. I am removing the tag now, based on what I now understand, and would be happy to discuss further here if anyone disagrees. It is my current understanding that this article is sourced by the audio recording (not in English) and video recordings that are given at the end of the article. They are recordings of interview(s) by Wikimedia volunteers. Which is great. They are in my opinion primary sources, and by wp:PRIMARY policy primary sources can be used within articles, with care. I don't think there is reason to think there is any synthesis or other type of wp:OR in the article. I think we have to assume good faith that the article is supported by the sources given. --doncram 18:25, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Audio or video recordings by Wikipedians in no way meet our requirement for reliable sources. I'm restoring the tag. Do not remove it until reliable sources have been provided. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:09, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
