Huh?
[edit]To KAZT
Dear Sirs/MMes,
I live in Scottsdale and would like to see KAZT Channel 27 listed on the TV page.
I use a free advertising newspaper put out by Ashland and the AZ Republic.
Can you contact them and arrange to be listed?
DGK Scottsdale
- DGK, leaving a note on the Wikipedia talk page does not get you in contact with the station management — it just gets you in contact with other Wikipedia readers. You'd be best to contact the station directly. Bearcat 19:53, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
Move to AZ-TV
[edit]I did this because at least three more KAZT repeaters have been found. There would just be too many satellites of KAZT (save bandwidth). -TrackerTV 01:27, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
- A repeater transmitter doesn't get its own article; it only gets a redirect to the originating callsign. Things like K19CX and K545CO would, at best, be redirects to this title anyway. So there's no real bandwidth issue to worry about. Bearcat 19:53, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
KAZT-CA Digital sign on
[edit]While AZTV officially started on 1/14/7 the digital broadcast actually started on 1/10/7 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.39.87.106 (talk) 04:45, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- True, but not verifiable through reliable sources. To my knowledge, KAZT-CA's digital signal hasn't officially started yet. Jan. 14 was their goal, but I don't believe they met it. dhett (talk • contribs) 07:04, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Early history, low power TV network hub?
[edit]In the late 1970s and about 1980/81, the FCC started what we now know as low power television, and when it was announced that the FCC was accepting applications for filings, a number of parties, including KUSK, filed many applications, usually over 100 each, often including one station in every major market. About 90 percent of the original applications never got past the review stage, and many of those never got built that got construction permits. It would not be until the 1990s that low power TV as we know it now really began to become what we know it today.
KUSK did have five in Phoenix originally, there was one on 17 and one on 55, and I think two others. I don't think any of them are in the same places now nor are they KAZT stations now, save for possibly the one mentioned on 27 until the digital switch and the subsequent move to channel 36.
The programming during the period when they were anticipating the national network was actually quite solid. Good off-network reruns, CNN2 (the forerunner of CNN Headline News), and even some sports. Shopping programming was run overnight from the beginning also, although if they had become a national network that might have given way to more off-network programming.
I personally had a relative who worked on things for Bill Sauro, and the national low poer network was basically his idea.
Can anyone find more on this history? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.23.163.74 (talk) 03:52, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
