Cleanup

[edit]

Some of the grammar used here is a bit inconsistent. I'll improve it a bit. Ondog 08:59, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sexual preference

[edit]

Is there any actual evidence that he is "Japan's leading gay icon"? This seems a bit suspect, especially since later down in the article it is written that it's not known whether or not he's actually gay. TheStripèdOne 05:05, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I apparently don't know what the term "Gay Icon" means. TheStripèdOne 05:09, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

is there any reliable source stating his sexuality? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.137.20.32 (talk) 19:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This section (Personal Life) in the article sounds very trivial, and to me, reeks of original research. Pertaining to his sexual preference, the only statement is by the Japanese media (tabloids?!?), and they suggest that he is gay. Even mentioned in the article, it says that there is "no evidence to support/prove this". Is this still qualified to remain in this article? --Luigi6138 21:55, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

does anyone know how tall he is?

According to http://www.kenhirai.net/profile/, 183cm. --ざくら 20:34, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Picture

[edit]

There is a creative commons licenced picture here http://flickr.com/photos/delinquent/93834299/

Why didn't we use this? It details his unique features nicely. Luigi6138 13:17, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

English fluent?

[edit]

I just watched a video of a CNN interview from 2006. At its end, the reporter says (don't bother with my spelling, you'll know by sounding it out. I can't spell Romanji...) "domo arigatou gozaimasuda". In response, he also says that, but tacks a "Thank you very much." But it's accent free. So, is he fluent in English? --Luigi6138 23:19, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Judging from the lyrics of his newest single, no. --ざくら 11:04, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
? I don't see the grammar to be too bad. And don't forget, it's a song. Just made to make it fit, maybe? --Luigi6138 20:31, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I still disagree. For example, the verse "who is a fake style?" is grammatically correct per se, but "who has a fake style?" would make more sense. A lot more sense actually. And "has" would neatly fit in the song. Also, I don't think "fake made" (I'd write it fake-made) is even proper English. --ざくら 11:13, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So by this logic, if you had grammatical errors in an essay, you wouldn't be fluent in English? You're right that he doesn't have native fluency (not mother tongue), but this wouldn't mean that he isn't fluent. Regardless, we don't decide what his language proficiency is, but instead should cite a (qualified) source. Rander26 (talk) 19:10, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Likelihood of finding a free article picture...

[edit]

Very unlikely. As put in the "Personal Life" section, he doesn't like to discuss it. It is unlikely that we will find a free picture other than the one above. And we still need the author's permission to use it if plausible. Luigi6138 23:16, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because of Mr. 88.241.IP's rationale, this article will probably never get an article picture. Luigi6138 (talk) 16:13, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On meaning of Ken's name

[edit]

In trivia section, that his name should never be analyzed in that way should be sorba trivial. Asvaghosa 06:29, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook friend

[edit]

I have actually got him as a Facebook friend, and- pardon the subjective source- it does not appear that he is gay. Le Anh-Huy (talk) 03:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
